Ages 6+
We care for children and teens, with continued support as they navigate life.
90 min
First evaluations are about 90 minutes, with a parent or guardian present.
An evaluation can help clarify what's behind your child's symptoms.
In person or by Telehealth
Signs it may be time for an evaluation
• Trouble focusing, sitting still or finishing schoolwork, for months rather than days
• Worry, fear or panic that keeps your child from school, sleep or friends
• Sadness, irritability or loss of interest that lasts more than two weeks
• Big mood swings, angry outbursts or behavior that feels out of character
• Repeated rituals, checking or intrusive thoughts
• Trouble falling or staying asleep
• A teacher, pediatrician or therapist has suggested a psychiatric evaluation
If your child talks about wanting to die or hurting themselves, call or text 988 or go to the nearest emergency room. Don't wait for an appointment.
What we treat
ADHD, anxiety (including social anxiety and school refusal), depression, OCD, bipolar disorder and mood swings, sleep issues, trauma and stress-related symptoms.
How it works
1. Evaluation (about 90 minutes). A parent or legal guardian attends with the child. We talk with you together and, for older kids and teens, with your child alone for part of the visit.
2. Plan: Based from the findings during the evaluation, we will share what we feel is the root cause of your child's symptoms. We will talk through the options. Medication is one option, not a requirement. The plan is made with the child and family member, not for you.
3. Follow-ups (20 to 30 minutes). We check how things are going, adjust the plan and stay in touch with your child's therapist or pediatrician when you'd like us to.
Telehealth for kids and teens
Many families use telehealth for follow-ups so kids miss less school. Your child needs to be in Florida during the visit, with a parent or guardian nearby.
Cost and insurance
We accept Aetna, Florida Blue/BCBS, Cigna, UnitedHealthcare/Optum/UBH, Oscar, AvMed, Oxford and UMR. We don't accept Medicaid plans. Self-pay is $225 for the evaluation and $90 for follow-ups.
Common questions
What age do you start seeing children? Age 6.
Does a parent need to come to every visit? A parent or legal guardian must attend the first visit. For follow-ups, a parent should be present or nearby for younger children. For teens, we'll talk with you about what works best.
Will my child be put on medication? Not automatically. We explain all the options, including therapy and changes at home or school. If we recommend medication, we explain why, what to watch for and how we'll follow up.
Do you provide therapy? Our focus is psychiatric evaluation and medication management. We're happy to work with your child's therapist, or to suggest next steps if your child doesn't have one.
Do I need a referral from our pediatrician? No. You can book directly. Some insurance plans require a referral, so check with your plan.
