How telepsychiatry works
1. Book online or call (407) 974-6539. Choose telehealth, and let us know if you'd prefer a Spanish-speaking provider.
2. Complete your intake forms that will arrive by email with a secure link before your visit.
3. Join your video visit from a phone, tablet or computer using the secure link we send you.
4. Your first visit is a full psychiatric evaluation of about 90 minutes. Follow-up visits usually take 20 to 30 minutes.
5. When medication is part of your plan, prescriptions are sent to your local pharmacy.
Did you know? A video visit is just as thorough as an office visit. Your provider can review your history, adjust your treatment and send prescriptions to the pharmacy of your choice anywhere in Florida.
Who telepsychiatry is right for
• People anywhere in Florida who live far from a psychiatric office
• Busy professionals, parents and students who can't take half a day off
• Patients who prefer to talk from the privacy of home
• Spanish-speaking patients looking for care in their language
Did you know? Many parents choose video visits for their child's appointments, so kids don't miss school and parents don't miss work. Children 6 and older can be seen by telehealth with a parent or guardian present.
What we treat online
ADHD, anxiety, depression, bipolar disorder, PTSD, OCD, insomnia and more, for children 6 and older, teens and adults.
Did you know? Studies comparing video visits with in-person psychiatric care have found similar results for many conditions, including depression, anxiety and ADHD. Many patients also find it easier to keep their appointments.
Telehealth requirements
• You must be physically located in Florida at the time of each visit.
• You'll need a private, quiet space and a phone or computer with a camera and an internet connection.
• ADHD care, including medication, is currently available by telehealth. If federal DEA telehealth rules change in 2027, those patients who are on a controlled medication will need an occasional in-person visit at our Longwood or Clermont office, and we'll let you know well in advance.
Cost and insurance
We accept Aetna, Florida Blue/BCBS, Cigna, UnitedHealthcare/Optum/UBH, Oscar, AvMed, Oxford, UMR and Medicare for telehealth visits. Self-pay rates are $225 for the initial evaluation and $90 for follow-ups. We don't accept Medicaid plans.
Spanish-speaking care
Gabriel Romero, PMHNP-BC speaks Spanish. Gabriel Romero sees patients by telehealth anywhere in Florida. Se habla español.
